Architecture Illustrated Fictional Cityscapes Hero Image

Overview

A series of fictional architectural illustrations created in the same visual style as the Architecture Illustrated Iconic Buildings series. These pieces explore imagined structures and dream-like cityscapes, allowing me to design buildings that exist only within my own illustrated world.

Process

What began as a project focused on real architectural landmarks gradually expanded into a space for creative exploration. While illustrating iconic buildings from around the world, I felt a growing desire to design scenes that weren’t bound to existing structures. This led me to develop a parallel series where I could fully shape the architecture, atmosphere, and composition.

In these fictional cityscapes, I continued using the same drawing style established in the original series to maintain visual continuity. The difference lies in the freedom of invention, each piece allowed me to experiment with forms, rhythms, and spatial narratives that blend architectural logic with imagination. A recurring element in these illustrations is the presence of cats, added to enhance the mood and leave a subtle signature of personality within each scene.

Together, these works represent the meeting point of my architecture and illustration practice, merging structure and storytelling into a cohesive fictional universe.
