Illustration & Web Design · 2022-2024
As part of my character design exploration, I developed a set of illustrations created specifically for UI and web design use. These characters were commissioned by an e-commerce illustration marketplace and designed to support a wide range of digital interface scenarios.
With UI design being such a major part of everyday visual communication, I wanted to create characters that could seamlessly integrate into different types of interfaces. Websites and apps each convey their own messages, so I focused on developing characters that could express clear actions and emotions across varied user journeys. This series explores scenarios such as shopping, banking, learning, traveling, and more.
The characters were intentionally designed with slightly exaggerated gestures and expressions to make their actions immediately readable, while still maintaining a balanced, approachable tone. Striking the right level of emphasis was important, clear enough to communicate purpose, but not overly dramatic. The color palette was chosen to stay vibrant and friendly without overwhelming the illustrations themselves.
To increase usability, each illustration package includes both a full-color version and a monochrome version, allowing designers to adapt the visuals to different interface styles. Together, these characters form a flexible, expressive set tailored for modern digital design contexts.
