Illustration & Architecture · 2020 - 2025
This series expands on the worlds introduced in Architecture Illustrated Iconic Buildings and Fictional Cityscapes. Here, the focus shifts toward more imaginative environments, exploring scenes that sit between reality and fantasy while still maintaining the visual language established in the earlier collections.
As I continued illustrating iconic buildings and designing fictional cityscapes, I found myself curious about pushing the boundaries even further. While the first two series were grounded in architectural structure, either real or invented, their tangibility sometimes limited the more experimental ideas I wanted to explore. This led me to develop a new set of illustrations centered on imaginative landscapes with a looser sense of realism.
In these pieces, I worked with a similar color palette and stylistic approach as the previous series, but allowed the environments to become more fluid, ambiguous, and atmospheric. The goal was to create scenes that feel intentionally unreal, recognizable enough to anchor the viewer, yet distinctly out of the ordinary.
This series opened up a new space in my practice, giving me the freedom to move beyond real-world constraints and explore more expressive, dream-like compositions. It continues to grow as a place where creativity and curiosity guide the design.
