Tiny Expressions Emoji Set Design

Overview

I was commissioned to create a custom emoji set for a company’s Discord community, designed specifically in the brand’s primary color. The emojis were created to support everyday communication within an active creative community.

Process

Before starting the designs, I studied the company’s user base, which mainly consisted of young designers, architects, and students. The goal was to understand how they communicate online and what kinds of expressions they commonly need in casual, fast-paced conversations.

Based on this, I designed a set of emojis that felt friendly, expressive, and immediately relatable. The illustration style was kept simple and familiar to ensure clarity at small sizes, while subtle details and expressions added personality and warmth. Staying within a single brand color helped maintain visual consistency and made the emojis feel cohesive within the company’s digital ecosystem.

The final emoji set balanced usability and character, providing the community with expressive tools that felt both personal and aligned with the brand’s identity.
