Overview

A collection of character designs created for an e-commerce illustration marketplace. Each set reimagines everyday moments through different lenses, offering a variety of personalities and styles for diverse creative needs.

Process

Illustration marketplaces often work like visual libraries, useful, versatile, and wide-reaching, but sometimes lacking a sense of individuality. To bring more warmth and personality into their content, I developed several character styles for the marketplace’s design library. The goal was to create characters that feel expressive, relatable, and adaptable across many scenarios.

Each style was designed to convey its own energy and distinct character traits, allowing users to choose the personalities that best suit their projects. After establishing the visual direction, these styles were later expanded and reproduced by other artists under my guidance. Several of the characters were also featured in campaign visuals and header imagery for the platform.

To demonstrate their versatility, I created mockups showing how the characters can be integrated into different scenes and use cases. Though the situations they represent are rooted in everyday life, the varied styles bring unique atmospheres and emotional tones to each illustration, making the series both functional and expressive.
