Tiny Tales Postal Stamp Collection

Overview

In this project, I designed a set of miniature illustrated stamps featuring fairy-like cats surrounded by lush, oversized florals. The aim was to create a charming, collectible series that blends character design with delicate botanical elements.

Process

As part of my weekly design challenges, I explored the world of stamp design and set out to create a cohesive graphic series that could be presented as a full collection. I focused on developing eight small illustrations that share the same visual language: a simple white cat character paired with big, colorful flowers and leafy plants.

Each scene captures a slightly different moment. Sometimes the cats interact with the blooms, peeking from behind petals, gently pushing them, or curiously observing them, and other times they simply stretch, yawn, or rest among the flowers. Their tiny, delicate scale next to the oversized botanicals adds a whimsical, almost magical feeling to the series, as if the viewer is looking into a secret miniature world.

For the palette, I chose soft pastels and gentle tones that enhance the dreamy, storybook mood of the collection. Designed with careful attention to small details, these stamps celebrate the beauty of miniature illustration, highlighting intricate floral textures and the quiet, playful personality of each tiny feline character.
